Trusted Advisor Forums
We started 2024 with one Trusted Advisor Forum group, and are finishing the year on the verge of opening up our 4th Trusted Advisor Forum group, now serving Denton, Frisco (which has been meeting for 2 years!), McKinney, and soon, Dallas!
Connect3 groups meeting in Arlington and Frisco
Every week, businessmen meet in these morning groups experiencing edification, equipping, and empowerment towards being ambassadors for Christ in the marketplace. These groups also serve as onramps for men getting plugged in to our various other offerings and events.
1-on-1 Discipleship
Not only has Phil been taking men through CBMC’s Operation Timothy discipleship process, but together our leadership team is helping to activate Christian businessmen to be disciple-makers themselves. As a snapshot of what this looks like, 3 local Christian businessmen who are part of CBMC here are discipling 8 others in one-on-one relational, biblical discipleship! Here is a video testimony of one man impacted by this process.
The Cowboy’s Perspective
On average 15-25 men attend this outreach event hosted each month at Stan Bower’s home in Dallas, with Phil providing technical and teaching support.
The Confluence
This outreach happened twice this year at The Hope Center in Plano with nearly 100 people attending our last event to hear a compelling message from an accomplished Christian leader with influence in the business world.
Impact Circle
In a first-ever event of its kind for CBMC DFW, we partnered with a local church in Frisco this November to create an event with a special speaker and networking as an opportunity for outreach and an onramp for many to get involved with CBMC locally. We are still harvesting fruit of new connections and evangelistic opportunities from this first of what promises to be many more successful outreaches in Frisco!
7:10 to Connection Prayer Meetings
These monthly Zoom-based prayer meetings have swelled in size at times to over 65 men participating from across the United States and the world praying through a list of Scripture-based prayers, including prayer for Dallas-Fort Worth.

A Major Moment of Transition: On the second day of CBMC’s national conference in St. Louis, MO this past October, David Meyers (left), the president of CBMC honored Stan Bower (center), Senior Area Director of CBMC DFW, for his nearly 28 years of service as an Area Director. Stan’s wife, Laura Bower (right), joined him on stage during this announcement. David Meyers also announced Stan’s forthcoming transition out of that role beginning January 1st, 2025. As part of the prepared remarks that Stan delivered following that announcement, Stan publicly announced that Phil Carlson will be his successor in stewarding the Dallas-Fort Worth ministry of CBMC beginning in 2025.
Re-launch Young Professionals groups in a new format to increase the longevity and reach of these groups. Here is a testimony of one man impacted by his visit to a DFW Young Professionals Group. Here is the story of another man whose visit to a YP group became the starting point for a work of God in his life.

The reality is that the harvest is plentiful, the laborers are few (Matt. 9:37), and while the Gospel is offered without charge (1 Cor. 9:18), this work has a financial cost (1 Cor. 9:7,14). Even the apostle Paul’s ministry was sustained through the generosity of others (Phil. 4:16-18), whose concern was eternal riches (Phil. 4:17, Matt. 6:19-21), and who through their giving, were counted as co-laborers with Paul (3 John 8). If you are considering making a gift, please determine how much to give in your heart without compulsion or begrudgingly, but with joy (2 Cor 9:6-7) recognizing all that you have is a gift from God in the first place (1 Chron 29:14).
